Paper Abstract

The use of Fourier descriptors for rapid recognition of complete shapes is discussed. A Fourier-Mellin correlation procedure for recognition of partial shapes is also presented. Some example recognition experiments, including industrial parts inspection and aircraft recognition, are shown.
