Paper Abstract

Three approaches to active compensated imaging are proposed, in which one or more nonlinear phase conjugators effectively compensate for atmospheric turbulence-induced image degradations. In all cases the imaging system aperture and all auxiliary apparatus are located proximal to the active illumination aperture, in contrast to previously discussed system implementations, and the references which are employed are natural features of the image object.
