Paper Abstract

Multivalued logic (MVL) is seriously being considered for optical implementation for its algorithmic parallelism. Practical implementation of an MVL algorithm using any technology demands engineering analysis of such implementations. Instead of concentrating on the algorithm and architectural aspects, we attempt to address the system issues such as logic levels, signal-to-noise ratio, and threshold value for intensity-coded MVL. Both computer simulation and experimental results are provided.
