Paper Abstract

We describe a simple method to derive electronic speckle pattern interferometry (ESPI) fringes using compressed JPEG images from a digital still camera and a personal computer. We show that ESPI fringes of good quality can be obtained by this method. We show examples of ESPI fringes for thermal loading and for mechanical deformations of the test object.
