Paper Abstract

There are some optical arrangements that closely resemble interferometric configurations but do not produce fringe patterns. An important characteristic of these devices is that they do not have two different outputs with complementary patterns, but only one. Some of these interferometers are described here, pointing out their common properties and differences. It is shown that if we open the second output, both complementary patterns will appear.
