Paper Abstract

The implementation of an encoder-decoder over two-dimensional (2-D) optical code-division multiple-access (OCDMA) networks is discussed. This coding uses extended-quadratic-congruence code for wavelength hopping, and optical-orthogonal code for time spreading. Due to the cyclic code pattern of this 2-D code family, one novel compact decoder based on arrayed-waveguide gratings can be used to simplify the OCDMA network architecture.
