Paper Abstract

We present an improved computation of crosstalk between single-mode rectangular optical waveguides for application to planar lightguide circuit design, and apply our analysis to several doped silica waveguide examples of practical importance. The results are compared with previous calculations of crosstalk as well as with the results obtained from a simulation (beam propagation) program.
