Come join us for a presentation by Dr. Kuheli Dutt on "Unconscious Bias and STEM Diversity." We will explore how humans develop subconscious associations based on societal conditioning, and how these associations impact the way we perceive things. With a focus on STEM diversity, this session will cover scientific research on unconscious bias and ways in which we can address these implicit associations on campus, in the lab, and in other areas of our lives.

Dr. Kuheli Dutt is the Assistant Director for Academic Affairs & Diversity at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO). In this role she serves as chief diversity officer, and works on appointment and promotion processes, search committee procedures, salary structures, family leave policies, bylaws and institutional governance, and the advancement of junior scientists.

Refreshments and discussion will follow the presentation.
