Workshop on Software for Modeling X-ray Sources, Optics, and Scattering
Thursday 21 August 2014
2:10 PM - 3:10 PM

Chairs: Manuel Sanchez del Rio, European Synchrotron Radiation Facility; Oleg Chubar, Brookhaven National Lab.

This workshop will have a three-fold aim: i) show live demonstrations of the codes and developments presented in the Advances in Computational Methods for X-Ray Optics III conference; ii) summarize and discuss collaborations targeting to standardize and exchange data, models, and codes among different packages; iii) organize the development of a new Python-based software infrastructure allowing to perform virtual experiments by running different interconnected codes and libraries that simulate emission by relativistic particles, propagate the radiation through optics, model scattering on samples, and perform experimental data processing. Speakers to be announced. Discussion and summary will follow.
