Nanotechnology in Microlithography Panel Discussion: Beyond Moore: Nanotechnology Surpassing the Roadmap
Date: Monday 27 February 2017
Time: 7:10 PM - 8:30 PM
Location: Convention Center 220C
Moderators:
Bryan M. Barnes, National Institute of Standards and Technology (USA); An Chen, Semiconductor Research Corp. (USA); R. Joseph Kline, National Institute of Standards and Technology (USA)

Transistor scaling has been the foundation of the semiconductor industry, but the effects of the “end” of Moore’s Law are now being realized. Identifying the right combinations of technological approaches is critical for manufacturing for next decade and beyond. Are there viable opportunities to be found in functional scaling, new application domains, or from various other alternatives? Our panel of experts will explore upcoming fundamental shifts in the design of future generations of devices, assessing known options and forecasting the path ahead. The panel will assess how technologies that are “More-than-Moore”, i.e. yielding heterogeneous integration of multiple functions, will interact with the approaches poised to bring CMOS to its ultimate scaling limits and beyond.
